Healthy living

Most people are reluctant to take drugs. Especially if there are other, more healthy options. When it comes to Gestational Diabetes treatment, it is actually a method to naturally stabilize blood sugar levels.

Lifestyle changes

You can control the level of your blood sugar. It largely depends on what you put into yourself every day.

In order to reduce high blood sugar content both for a short and long time, there are three specific things you can do:

1) Eat regularly – breakfast, lunch, dinner, and only two to three snacks. It makes it easier to avoid unnecessary snacking. Avoid sugary snacks between meals. Breakfast is especially important because you don’t get any food when you sleep. This means that the body system is drained of easily accessible energy. Later use of proteins as fuel begins in the system.

2) Eat your fill of healthy food. Most of the food you eat should consist of fresh vegetables and fiber. Eat according to the plate size. Fill half the serving with vegetables. Choose whole grains as the first choice and think of the serving size. Avoid sugar and other fast carbohydrates. Eat, for example, the whole apple rather than drink apple juice. An apple contains plenty of fiber, while juice has a high concentration of sugar from several apples.

3) Exercise moderately for 30 minutes every day. Remember that it is important to do daily exercises such as taking stairs instead of the elevator, or using a high table if you work at the office. Avoid sitting still as much as you can. It may seem that 30 minutes is not so much, but it works wonders with time. Imagine that you burn 150 kcal each day within a 30-minutes long daily walk. In one year, it will be around 55,000 kcal, which is the energy content of almost eight kilograms of body fat.

Medical Nutrition Therapy

Medical Nutrition Therapy, MNT, is a new form of treatment. It is intended to prevent the forming and evolving of diseases by adding specific nutrients to the body instead of drugs. The treatment is the result of more than ten years of scientific studies in Swedish and international research labs.
Based on medical nutrition therapy, we have developed the Preload® Balance therapy, which can stabilize blood sugar levels. By ingesting natural nutrients concentrate it is possible to achieve hormonal balance in the body. This prepares the system for an increase in blood sugar at the upcoming meal, stabilizing the blood sugar response. This means that you do not need to use drugs in the same amounts in order to adjust the insulin level in the system.

Hunger and saturation are the basic processes of all people. Hunger controls our minds making us seek food. Saturation signals that the body has received a sufficient amount of nutrients and energy. There are two kinds of saturation, one is a direct saturation that occurs during a meal, second is the feeling of saturation between two meals. Both are important for us in order to understand how the medical nutrition therapy can affect our food intake positively.

The first process that controls saturation is the feeling of full stomach. When we eat the stomach is expanded and signals the central nervous system that it is full. Fiber, protein and fat reduce the speed of the stomach emptying , which gives an increased sense of saturation and raises blood sugar levels. Liquid foods, such as soda, provide faster emptying of the stomach and saturation levels are lower than with the equivalent amount of energy received from a regular meal.

Another process that affects saturation is that food stimulates a number of hormones. They influence our conscious experiences of the food intake. They also affect the complex physiological system that takes care of the food eaten by distributing and transporting nutrients in the body’s tissues and organs.

The appetite-promoting hormone ghrelin controls our hunger, while the hormone leptin controls saturation. Ghrelin is produced in the stomach. The levels of ghrelin decrease after eating. Leptin is released into the blood from fat tissue where it is formed.

When food, after passing through the stomach, reaches the duodenum, several hormones are secreted that signal saturation to the appetite-regulating centers of the brain. When we eat pancreas begins to produce insulin. Insulin controls blood sugar levels and affects appetite. When concentration of the saturation hormones increases in the blood, the body sends a signal to reduce food intake.

By developing foods and meals with the right mix of nutrients we can affect the systems saturation signals. This way you can avoid eating too much, or the wrong kind of food, such as fast carbohydrates. This is the basis of Preload® Balance therapy. Preload® Balance

Preload® Balance is based on a medical nutrition therapy and is a treatment designed to stabilize blood sugar in a simple way. This method is the basis for our first product containing a combination of all-natural nutrients, including from peas, eggs, rose hips and sugar beet fibers.

Our product name is Preload® Balance and it should be drunk 30 minutes before meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) in order to increase saturation and reduce craving for sweets. It is sold in individual packs.

Each pack contains 235 ml of drink and is available in five flavors: blueberry, rose hip, apple/cinnamon, tomato and coffee.

Preload® Balance is developed by the Swedish biotechnical company Indevex.

How Preload® Balance works?

Preload® Balance is a drink based on medical nutrition therapy (read more about it here). The purpose of the nutrient drinking is to give the body saturation system a “false start” by adding a small amount of nutritional concentrate before meal.

The saturation system “false start” makes one feel certain saturation right at the beginning of the meal. The stomach emptying also slows down. It makes blood sugar response to the taken meal more uniform, i.e. the energy peak comes later and is not so pronounced. This means that less insulin is produced, and there are a number of positive aftereffects. Balanced blood sugar content affects us positively, giving consistent energy and less cravings for food between meals. However, a sharply fluctuating blood sugar with high peaks replaced by downfalls of the sugar content stimulates hunger and leads to craving for sweets between meals.

Another effect of the saturation system “false start” is that food intakes automatically become smaller and better balanced. One gets more hungry for healthy food and less for fast carbohydrates when the saturation system is activated, and hunger abates.
Several international scientific studies (read more about them here) have demonstrated that Preload® Balance is excellent and provides long-term and sustainable results.

Who can take Preload® Balance?

Preload® Balance may be used by all adults, but is mainly intended for women who are worried about having, or already have suffered from Gestational Diabetes.

According to conducted scientific studies (read more about them here), Preload Balance has proved to be very effective in reducing the risk of developing Gestational Diabetes.

People who are allergic to eggs and milk protein should not take the product. Women, who have had diabetes before pregnancy should discuss their lifestyles and pharmacological treatments with their doctor and a maternity care specialist.
In the studies carried out on the product no unwanted side-effects had been found. Allergen-containing egg and milk protein can cause allergic reactions.

There is no danger in taking Preload Balance. The product cannot be overdosed. The body assimilates the amount of nutrients it needs, the rest comes out natural way.
